Did You Know?
Why Study the Arts?
1.They are languages that all people speak--that cut across racial, cultural, social, educational, and economic barriers and enhance cultural appreciation and awareness. 2.They are symbol systems as important as letters and numbers. 3.They integrate mind, body, and spirit. 4.They provide opportunities for self-expression, bringing the inner world into the outer world of concrete reality. 5.They create a seamless connection between motivation, instruction, assessment, and practical application--leading to “deep understanding.” 6.They merge the learning of process and content. 7.They improve academic achievement--enhancing test scores, attitudes, social skills, critical and creative thinking.

Some of you are making a good effort to have your kids here for sectionals each week. These small group sessions are great for us to really focus on the details of our UIL Contest music. We have permission from the coaching staff to begin to pull our band kids from track practice once a week for their sectionals...so all conflicts should be solved by the end of this week.Sectionals will continue through April 5th. Advanced Band (Concert 1) | Monday | Tuesday | Wednesday | Thursday | Friday | 7:25 - 7:55 a.m. | .. | Tuba | French Horn | Euphonium | Saxophone | 4:00 - 4:35 p.m. | Flute | Oboe | Trumpet | Clarinets | Trombone | Challenger Band (Concert 2) | Monday | Tuesday | Wednesday | Thursday | Friday | 3:00 - 3:45 p.m. | Low Brass | Flute/Oboe | Percussion | French Horn/Sax/Trumpet | .. | 3:45 - 4:30 p.m. | .. | Clarinets | .. | .. | .. |
